Solar monitoring is provided by Sunreports. The Laundromat has been one of the first to use Sunreports hardware on a commercial solar thermal installation.

Our
CarbonCounted
label shows that a load of laundry washed and dried at the Beach
Solar Laundromat has a carbon footprint of 1.7 kg.

One
factor that went into calculating our footprint is the electricty
we use. It comes from Bullfrog Power,
100% generated from renewable sources such as run-of-river hydro
and windmills.
How big is the carbon footprint of other laundromats? Maybe we'll find out soon. CarbonCounted is a new grass roots carbon labeling initiative. The value shown on a CarbonCounted logo is the amount of carbon dioxide that was released into the atmosphere in order to make and ship that particular product or service. Read more about it at CarbonCounted.com.
